Deliverance / Spiritual Warfare

Do you have a part of your life that you just can’t get any victory in? You just keep hitting the same wall. Is there a sin in your life you can’t stop? You have prayed and prayed and still no victory? You may be in bondage and need deliverance. Read more...

This bondage may be demonic in nature and could be causing things such as: negative, obsessive/compulsive thoughts leading to irrational behavior , chronic fear, despair, anger, self pity, depression and/or habitual sin(s).

Unclean or demonic spirits are not caught like a common cold. They typically need a doorway into our lives. These doorways are typically opened by us regarding things we do such as drug and/or alcohol abuse, pornography, sexual immorality, idolatry, deception, anger/rage, violence, un-forgiveness, the occult, astrology, divination, abortion, spiritualism, necromancy, transcendental meditation, witchcraft, genealogical/familial issues, etc…. Demonic spirits may also come into our lives via another doorway such as things that were done to us which may include; trauma, ungodly control over us from others via guilt, fear, manipulation, bullying and/or domination. Ungodly soul ties which can be formed here too are also open doors to the demonic. Once these unclean spirits have a place in our lives they defile, torment and enslave. Their goal is to steal, kill and destroy. Note the progression.

For the record, we do not believe a Christian can be demon possessed. We do believe in demonic oppression and this is mostly what we deal with. Many times people are delivered from demonic torment when they accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, but sometimes they are not. They receive a new spirit at the time of salvation (2 Corinthians 5:17) but many times their soul (mind, will and emotions) are still the same as it was before salvation just like our bodies stay the same. The soul is typically where the battle is fought. Some may have been delivered and chose to go back via a free act of their will and open up those doors again. This is why many times, anger, addictions, depression, pornography, etc.. can remain after salvation and this is when deliverance may be needed. More on this in our Spirit, soul and body section.

In the event that you or someone you love is in bondage Jesus Christ came to set the captives free. You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. He who Jesus sets free is free indeed.

The deliverance process is done over several sessions. Our approach is not theatrical but simply exercises the power and authority that Jesus Christ has given us. As followers of Christ, we are being obedient in doing what He told us to do. Mark 16:17, Luke 10:19

Deliverance is an element of spiritual warfare. We will learn the other aspects of spiritual warfare in our counseling sessions too. You can fight from victory and not for victory. We are here to help you appropriate this victory “in Him”, Jesus Christ. Our main requirement is that the counselee wants to be well. John 5:6

Remember Jesus Christ came so we can have life and have it abundantly. The devil came to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10 ) Note the progression here.. First he is a thief. This thievery is often our joy or our quality of life. Next his goal is to kill. This can be our spiritual advancement which can also have a huge impact on our soul (mind, will and emotions). Then he wants to destroy. This can actually affect our (physical) body too. This can be done even to Christians when we buy into his lies and say “oh well, this is just how it is”. Demonization has strange ways of affecting our lives. Most often in paralyzing, blocking and/or making us ineffective for The Kingdom of God and/or His call on our lives.

We do not believe there is a demon behind every emotional, mental and/or behavioral issue. A New Beginning: Pastoral counseling offers both deliverance ministry as well as Christian counseling. Sometimes both are needed and sometimes only one. We have learned that if there is any dark spiritual element involved, counseling is a waste time and and money until the demonic is addressed.
